Royal Warrant-holding fine leather goods maker, Ettinger, still handcrafts its extensive portfolio of accessories at its factory in Walsall, north west of Birmingham, which has been a leather goods factory since the 1890s. The factory is run by Factory Manager, Gary Billingham, who is also the main pattern and sample maker. Gary takes a 2D drawing and transforms it into a working 3D model by creating all the necessary parts of the item. Ettinger’s craftspeople train for at least 5 years to learn all the skills required to make their beautiful products. The film explains, in Gary’s words, how Ettinger’s products are individually hand-made from start to finish and the superb quality of the end products.
